AliExpress vs CJ Dropshipping
How AliExpress and CJ Dropshipping differ for product research and fulfillment, and what this app can actually order.
They are not the same job
AliExpress is a marketplace of sellers. It is useful for seeing how an item is photographed, which variants exist, and how many similar listings a buyer would scroll past. It is not the warehouse this app orders from.
CJ Dropshipping is a supplier with product, variant, stock, and freight endpoints. Import uses those endpoints. Orders use the CJ order API. Sandbox mode does not bill the CJ wallet.
How to compare them on one product
Pick one variant. Record the AliExpress seller’s stated ship window and price as research, then request a CJ quote for the same kind of item. Compare cost, shipping, and the countries each one will not ship to.
If CJ can fulfill it, import that product into the store. If it cannot, look at Printful, Printify, or a direct supplier. Do not publish an AliExpress listing as if this app will order it.
Price both quotes
Put each quote into the idea checker. A cheaper product cost is not better if shipping or the ship window makes the offer worse. Pricing for Pro is separate: the supplier choice does not change the Free limits.
Questions
Does Dropship Scout place AliExpress orders?
No. AliExpress is a place to research listings and suppliers. Fulfillment in this app uses CJ Dropshipping, Printful, Printify, or a direct supplier who joined the platform.
Is CJ always faster than AliExpress?
No. Ask the specific CJ warehouse and the specific AliExpress seller for the ship window. Do not assume a brand name is a delivery date.
